  • I have an emergency - can you help me NOW!?

    We do our best to assist in emergency situations. We will re-arrange our schedule to accommodate, if at all possible.

  • Do you work on weekends?

    Yes, we work 6 days a week. SATURDAY appointments book up quick, so it is best to plan ahead if you need weekend service.

    "Wow, I can't believe I got a real person!" Its wonderful to hear this comment over and over again.


    I love talking to new customers and helping them figure out a home repair solution.  Its hard work to always answer the phone while I'm working, but some of my work can be tedious and monotonous, and lends well to a quick bluetooth phone chat!

Types of Work


  • Do you do commercial work for Retail, Healthcare or Hospitality ?

    Yes, we work with several management companies who dispatch us for commercial repair work.  Clients include Lululemon, Apple Stores, Hilton Hotels and Banfield Pet Hospital. 

  • I live in another state, but own property in MINNESOTA - can you work with my tenant to resolve some repair issues?

    Quite a few of our rental property owners live in another state. Upon request, we arrange with your tenant to do approved repairs/upgrades. We invoice the owner, who pays us with a credit card or bank payment immediately upon completion of assignment. 

  • Can you do some repairs to my condo, and bill the HOA for the work?

    In order to do so, we need HOA approval. Upon receipt of an approved work order from the association, we will arrange w/condo owner to do the work and submit our invoice to the HOA for payment.


Payment


  • What type of payment methods do you accept?

    We accept checks, credit cards and cash.

  • I am not satisfied. Can I get a refund?

    Our number one goal is to leave our customers satisfied. We guarantee all service for 1 year and will come back to rectify any problems until you are happy.


    No refunds are given.

  • Do you invoice for services rendered?

    Yes, we will invoice every service call.  We email a copy of the invoice and your payment receipt.


How We Work


  • Do I purchase the materials or do you?

    Materials are provided by you, or WE CAN purchase them AND BILL YOU. We MAINTAIN A STOCK OF COMMON BUILDING MATERIALS IN THE VAN THAT WE CHARGE AT A FAIR MARKET RATE IF WE USE IT. SOMETIMES WE NEED TO SHOP FOR MATERIALS WHICH you will pay for (hourly rate).

  • Materials won't fit in my car. Can I put them on 'will call' and have you pick them up for me?

    No problem. Simply pick out your materials, pay for the merchandise, and either provide us with the receipt for pickup, or advise the store to allow pickup by 5 THINGS HANDYPERSON. We will deliver the materials to you, and do the installation work to complete your project. You will pay for time (hourly rate) we spend picking up the materials. 

  • Do you work by the hour, or by the project?

    Small repair work, requiring 1-8 hours is usually done 'by the hour'.   

    Larger projects, are more cost effective if bid as a 'project'. Our bid will not change unless requirements change during the project. 

  • Do I have to be home while you do the work?

     Many of our customers feel comfortable leaving us a key or arranging access to their property, so we can handle their requests while they are at work.
